Eden Reforestation Projects’ model is straightforward: planting trees helps forest ecosystems recover and mitigates climate change, and the act of planting trees and tending forests reduces extreme poverty, providing people with employment and communities with economic vitality. Their projects have planted over 331 million trees and created 3.3 million workdays across 81 sites in six countries. The RWN Foundation grant provided funds to help drill and install wells in northern Madagascar to be used for clean drinking water and tree irrigation, as well as training Eden staff and other community members to maintain the wells.
