Clackamas Service Center (CSC) is an inclusive, trauma-informed “one-stop-shop” where community members experiencing hunger and poverty can meet their basic food, health, and hygiene needs, and connect with supportive services to help them take their next steps toward stability and self-sufficiency. Founded in 1973, CSC has served as a vital community hub for low- and no-income east Portlanders for more than two generations. Approximately 2,120 unique households participate in our Community Nutrition Program each year, including over 1,000 people under the age of 19 and 945 seniors. About 46% of CSC clients have a place to live, while 54% are unhoused. Over the last couple of years, CSC has seen its client population grow substantially. Accordingly, RWN Foundation’s support was used to support growing capacity for program staff and supplies, partner and community outreach, and business planning.
